One pair electronically tested platinum ladies cast and assembled tanzanite and diamond dangle earrings with screw backs. Condition is new, good workmanship. Each earring features a tanzanite set within a tiered diamond bezel, suspended by diamond cluster links from a stylized diamond set post. Bright polish finish. Trademark is Orianne. Identified with markings of "PT950". Containing: Ê Two prong set oval mixed cut natural tanzanites, measuring 10.20mm x 8.40mm x 6.80mm, approximate total weight of 7.11ct., clarity is eye clean, type I, medium, very slightly grayish, bluish violet color, (GIA bV 5/3), cut is good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. Measurements and the color grade are an average for the pair. Graded in the setting. Ê Tanzanite is a very rare gemstone that is only found in the country of Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967. Tiffany and Company, named the stone Tanzanite. It is found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Ê Tanzanite occurs in gray, brown, violet, blue, reddish-purple, and green. The gem is interesting because of its exceptional pleochroism. Rotated in different directions a tanzanite will exhibit multiple changes of color. Tanzanite has a low tolerance to ultrasonic cleaning, and should not be cleaned using this method. Ê One hundred seventy-four prong set round brilliant cut diamonds (depth est.) approximate total weight of 174 Stones = 2.57ct. Graded in the setting.
