A pair of Bulgari Tubogas earrings in stainless steel and 18k gold. Iconic Bulgari Tubogas design comes in a wide variety of materials and shapes. These hoop earrings were made by using a stainless steel coil as a base. A thick gold wire is twisted around the coil. The steel and gold are high-polished to provide a rebel, straight-forward feel to the piece. A distinctive aesthetic of tubogas was first obtained by Bulgari from the gas pipes design. The brand adopted the look in 1940s. As the name implied, the tubogas style is flexible and adaptable to any jewelry form, from rings to watches. Other jewelers followed the trend, and today this design is still sought after.
