PETER MAX Measurements: ~28” x 36” This stunning piece is a magnificent original acrylic on canvas in the manner of the amazing artist, Peter Max. A cherished piece within the consignor’s estate for many years, it is only now being offered for the first time at auction through this Intervendue auction. Peter Max, is a German-American artist known for his vibrant swirls and bursts of color that delight the eye and feed the soul. Spanning what often feels like the entire spectrum on the color wheel, Max’s artwork and work inspired by the artists that capture this essence, is one of many reasons why his work is so desirable and sought after. Works by Max are associated with the visual arts and culture of the 1960’s, particularly psychedelic art and pop art. The imagery of the heart is a symbol often used to represent the center of emotion, most significantly, and well known for love and affection. The piece genuinely has a richness of love and life, joy and warmth, and will surely be a showstopper in any room it is placed in. The piece does not come with any paperwork to substantiate its authenticity. Consignor states that when he originally purchased the artwork over 10 years ago, a COA accompanied the artwork, but unfortunately, he’s unable to locate the file with his several Peter Max COAs.
